Here are 10 super simple rules for a happy, productive life:
- Keep clutter to a minimum. Don’t own more than what you need.
- Have a place for everything you own.
- Do one load of laundry every day AND be realistic about how many clothes you should own.
- Use the basket method throughout the week to keep your surfaces tidy. You can find an article on that method here: https://organizedchaos4bus.com/2022/11/29/the-basket-method/
- Wipe down your countertops every evening.
- Don’t buy groceries without having a plan for what you’ve purchased AND don’t buy groceries until you’ve used what you already have.
- Use some type of planner, whether that be a phone or a paper planner. Figure out the week’s logistics on the Saturday before the next week begins. Does your kid need treats brought to school? Do you have a dentist appointment? Do you need to take the dog to the vet? Don’t wing it!
- Set limits with yourself. If you have food at home to cook, don’t eat out. If you have dishes in the sink, load the dishwasher before you lay in bed to scroll your phone. If you’ve got a load of laundry to do, get that done before you go out.
- Get your house on a routine.
- Make time for rest and self care.
