Embrace Minimal-ISH

Your house NEEDS to be empty. If your surfaces are covered in decor you aren’t living in a home, you’re living in a storage unit! Look at my house right now. It’s bare. It’s cold. It’s empty. That’s exactly how your house should look too.

SIKE! Take a breath, I’m just kidding. I’m not actually saying you need to live in a white box with one chair! I have stuff, I like my stuff! But remember, the more you have the more there is to maintain. Every single trinket on your shelf is a dust collector. Every pile of clothes on the floor attract spiders and other pests. Every item you own costs you your time and your peace. So you have to ask yourself, “is it worth it?”.

I’ve taught millions how to live minimal-ISH and it all comes down to balance. I want the “homey” feel with my decor, but I refuse to pay for it with my mental health. I keep my surfaces clear, not because I hate stuff, but because I love clarity! If the thought of an empty counter makes you angry, ask yourself “why am I so attached to things that can’t love me back?”. You need a healthy balance so you can stop being a slave to your aesthetic and start being the CEO of your peace!
