August Calendar: S.U.M. Method

Please excuse me, but I’m going to toot my own horn here for a minute.

I have so many valuable resources for my followers and subscribers and I don’t think I do a very good job promoting them. And that needs to change. So for the month of August, I am going to be talking non stop about a favorite method I created when decluttering and I call it the S.U.M. method. It’s an acronym for Space, Utilization and Maintenance. Essentially, when deciding what to keep and what to get rid of, you need to ask yourself three questions:

  1. Do I have space for it?
  2. Do I use it?
  3. Can I maintain it?

If you can’t say yes to all 3, then you do not keep that specific item. So for August’s calendar you are going to ask those 3 questions to various objects in your home. The objects can be your choice, but I’ve given you areas to follow as well as how many of each items in that area to analyze (that’s the number in parentheses).

Good luck and PLEASE share your progress here in the comments or on social media. I LOVE seeing your results!!!

  1. Hi Audrey, As no one else has commented here yet I thought I would let you know that your Insta videos and the 610 list and these calendars from Aug-Oct that I have downloaded are going to help me so much with getting my house back into some order. I probably have ADHD too but also not diagnosed, so have always struggled with clutter.

I was diagnosed StageIV colorectal cancer (spread only to lungs) in Dec23. 2024 was my main treatment and recovery year. The primary tumor was removed early 2024 and I was told I was now at a curable with treatment stage. Will probably be chemo for life, but very grateful to be in this position.

So, your simple guides I can already tell, will help me to focus and get the peaceful home I’ve always wanted.

    Kind regards,
