5 Decluttering Tasks To Do Each Month

Here are five decluttering tasks you should do every month to help keep things from growing into clutter and chaos.

They don’t all have to be done on the same day so it shouldn’t take you long to complete them. Use the time method if you need to.

Five Decluttering Tasks

1. Junk Drawer

Junk drawers are vital, but they’re clutter magnets. I use dividers in mine specifically organized for certain items so I know if something is in there that shouldn’t be.

2. Pantry

Although I go through mine weekly, a quick monthly sweep is a good idea. A cluttered pantry hides what you actually have, leading to duplicate grocery purchases and wasted food.

3. Bathroom Caddy and Makeup Bag

Skincare and hair products accumulate fast and half-used bottles require your constant maintenance. Toss anything you haven’t reached for in 3 months.

4. Medicine Cabinet

Medicines expire quietly. We “think” we just bought that box of Claritin, but it’s been expired for 3 months.

5. Phones

Spend 10 minutes a month deleting those worthless pictures and unused apps.

These may seem like small tasks — and they are if done regularly — but they can make a huge difference in keeping things tidy, organized, and free of clutter!
